All About Bingo Cards

It's not possible to play bingo without bingo cards!

Ask any bingo player about using bingo cards and prompt comes the reply that it feels so good to daub numbers on bingo cards to score wins.

There are many types of bingo cards available today. Listed below are the most common varieties of bingo cards. Have a look.

US Bingo Cards

US bingo cards are printed on a 5x5 grid. Each card contains 24 random numbers between 1 and 75. The center square is always left empty. The five columns are titled “B”, “I”, “N”, “G”, and “O”. Different patterns are played on US bingo cards that may range from being static or dynamic.

UK Bingo Cards

UK bingo cards are different than the US bingo cards and are better known as bingo tickets. Each printed card contains 15 numbers scattered across 3 rows of 9 columns each. Actually, every column contains either one, two, or three numbers. Three patterns called one row, two rows, and full house are played on UK bingo cards.

Break Open Bingo Cards

Break open bingo cards, also known as strip tickets, nevada tickets, or pickles, are special bingo cards on which there are hidden numbers that have been predetermined as winners. The combination of numbers is hidden behind the perforated window tabs. Since seeing the hidden numbers requires “breaking open” the card, these bingo cards are called break open bingo cards.

Flimsy Bingo Cards

Flimsy bingo cards, also known as flimsy sheets or throwaways, are printed on thin sheets of paper. Usually, there are three cards on a sheet, but a sheet may contain one, two, or as many as nine cards. These bingo cards are popular because they are inexpensive and usually cost less than $2 per sheet.

Shutter Bingo Cards

Shutter bingo cards may be new but they are fast becoming popular. These bingo cards are durable and re-usable. Every number has its own shutter and instead of marking a number with a dauber, you simply slide the shutter to cover the number.

Shutter bingo cards are made from wood, plastic, and cardboard. Sometimes they are machine stitched. Due to the re-usability feature, bingo halls are preferring using shutter bingo cards over regular cards.

That was all about bingo cards. Hope you enjoyed reading about them. Now let's get to the real thing and enjoy playing a few bingo games!
